In the 2020/2021 academic year, the selection process consisted of the following stages. Stage 1: Submitting an application that included an essay and a CV. Stage 2: Interview with two representatives of the Ampersand Foundation. Stage 3: Those who passed both previous stages were presented to Ampersand donors as potential candidates, and the three who received the most votes were offered scholarships.
Out of 34 active members of the community, 12 voted for their top three (or fewer) candidates for Ampersand scholarships at KSE. The distribution of the votes was the following:
The top three candidates for the 2020/2021 academic year that was (in alphabetic order) – Dana Tryhubyak, Marharyta Dubrova, Onufriy Lonevskyі. All three candidates accepted their scholarships.
* – Additionally, Vadym Chernikov, who received fantastic feedback from community members during his interviews yet not entirely made it to the top 3, agreed to join Ampersand without the scholarship. Nevertheless, as we considered his exceptional academic achievements and contribution to the community, the decision was made by Ampersand to cover 50% of his tuition fees (half of our standard KSE scholarship).
