Ampersand Foundation (legal name Ampersand Education Foundation, a US 501(c)(3) non-profit, EIN 83-3062616) operates the website ampersand.foundation. Questions or requests can be sent to hello@ampersand.foundation.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and collects data about pages viewed, the referrer and campaign source, approximate location, and device and browser information. This data is used to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it.
The About page embeds a YouTube video. If you play the video, YouTube may set its own cookies and collect data in accordance with Google's privacy policy.
Scholarship applications
KSE applicants apply through our Google Forms. We collect contact details (name and email), a CV and essays.
UCU applicants tick a box on UCU's own application form to share their application documents with us. UCU then passes those documents to us directly.
We use the information to conduct interviews, compile a shortlist, and present candidates to our donors and community members, who vote on the recipients. The names of selected scholars are published on this website (on the campaign, Students and Alumni pages), and some entries include a link to the scholar's LinkedIn profile.
Donations
We accept donations through PayPal and by US bank transfer. In both cases we receive the donor's name, email address and the amount of the gift, as reported by PayPal or the bank. Donors may also fill in an optional donor form hosted in Google Forms.
This information is used to process gifts, issue tax receipts, and — when requested — to send updates about the programme.
We use Google Workspace for email. Some messages may be sent through SendGrid.
Your rights
You may ask us to provide, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you, or to remove your name from the website, by emailing hello@ampersand.foundation. We will respond as promptly as we can.
